Your Moment.
Your Sky.
Your Story.

Using precise NASA star and constellation data, we recreate the sky from any exact location, date and time, then turn it into a dial made for one watch only.

1-of-1 precision

A production tool made for one story.

Every ChronoAstra dial begins with a completely unique, high-resolution starmap generated specifically for your moment.

That artwork is transformed into a custom engraved pad-printing cliché created exclusively for your watch. Unlike standard digital printing, pad printing carries meaningful setup time and is traditionally built around production runs.

We accept that complexity for one reason: it gives your constellation the cleanest, sharpest and most controlled dial finish possible.

Why pad printing?

Precision you can see.
Craft you can feel.

Pad printing transfers ultra-fine details onto delicate surfaces while preserving the registration needed for repeated luminous applications.

01

Sharper constellation lines

Fine stars and connecting lines retain their definition at dial scale.

02

Cleaner edge definition

Controlled ink transfer creates crisp boundaries across delicate dial surfaces.

03

Higher long-term durability

A proven watch-dial process designed for a lasting, consistent finish.

04

Better lume integration

Precise registration gives each BGW9 application a clean foundation.

05

Greater consistency

Pressure, pickup and transfer can be controlled for every individual dial.

06

A true luxury dial finish

The same core method used to apply fine details on high-end watch dials.

How pad printing works

Four controlled movements.
One clean result.

The silicone pad acts as the precise bridge between the engraved plate and the finished dial.

01

Ink enters the cliché

Your constellation artwork is held in the engraved recesses of its dedicated plate.

02

The silicone pad picks it up

A flexible pad lifts the complete fine-line map in one controlled movement.

03

The map reaches the dial

The pad conforms to the dial surface and transfers the constellation precisely.

04

Registration is inspected

Alignment, edges and fine details are checked before the next production stage.

Our process

Six stages.
No stock map.

Our Germany-based team combines astronomical mapping, production artwork, Swiss pad-printing technology and individual quality control.

01

Your Sky

We calculate the visible stars and constellation positions for your exact location, date and local time using astronomical data.

02

High-Resolution Mapping

Your sky becomes a production-ready vector artwork engineered for the scale and proportions of your chosen dial size.

03

Dedicated Cliché Production

A precision engraving plate is created for your watch alone, carrying your exact constellation layout.

04

Pad Printing

Swiss pad-printing technology transfers the map to the selected dial with controlled pressure and exceptionally fine registration.

05

BGW9 Super-LumiNova®

Four registered BGW9 applications build brightness, depth and the signature soft-blue night glow.

06

Inspection & Assembly

The dial is inspected under magnification before it enters final assembly with your chosen case, movement and engraving.

The BGW9 application process

Built in layers.
Alive after dark.

We use Swiss BGW9 Super-LumiNova® for its brightness, stability and soft-blue glow. Every dial receives four carefully registered luminous applications for maximum depth and consistency.

01

Initial BGW9 print

The complete starmap is established with a high-precision luminous base print.

02

BGW9 application two

The second registered layer follows the stars and constellation details.

03

BGW9 application three

A third application increases brightness and evens the luminous field.

04

BGW9 application four

The final application builds depth, consistency and the finished blue glow.

Inspection & assembly

Precision does not end with the print.

Every completed dial is checked under magnification before final assembly into the case, movement and strap configuration you selected.

  • Edge and line definition
  • Lume coverage and consistency
  • Final dial surface inspection
